Scottish champions Rangers will take on Eintracht Frankfurt of Germany in the UEFA Europa League (UEL) final after they saw off RB Leipzig of Germany in their semifinal tie. Rangers had to overcome a first leg deficit to book their place in the Europa League final at the expense of their German opponents.

Ex-Manchester City star Angelino scored the only goal of the game when Rangers and hosts RB Leipzig met in Germany for the first leg last week Thursday. His goal gave RB Leipzig a 1-0 win thus making them favourites to secure a spot in the Europa League final. However, Rangers had other ideas thanks to their impressive performance in the second leg at Ibrox. The Scottish Premiership giants defeated RB Leipzig 3-1 at the end of the second leg to seal a 3-2 aggregate win and a place in the Europa League final as a result.

Rangers took a big step towards the Europa League final with two goals in six first half minutes. Club skipper James Tavernier gave Rangers the lead on 18 minutes before Finnish international midfielder Glen Kamara added a second goal six minutes later. At that point, Rangers needed to keep the team from Germany at bay for the rest of the game to qualify for the Europa League final. They were able to maintain the two-goal lead until the half-time interval and the first part of the second half before leading goalscorer Christopher Nkunku struck for the visitors in the 70th minute to drag his team back into the tie. It took Rangers just ten minutes to recover from the setback of losing a goal to Frenchman Nkunku after former Sheffield United midfielder scored the third Rangers goal with ten minutes left on the clock.

Rangers held on for the final ten minutes plus stoppage time to seal a final clash with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
