Premier League giants Chelsea have been informed that Bayern Munich defender DayotUpamecano is available for a transfer if they sign Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt who’s also a transfer target for the English team. Bayern are keen to lure de Ligt to Germany this summer and they have already agreed personal terms with the young defender.

Various media outlets have reported that Bayern Munich have agreed a salary of €12m on a yearly basis with de Ligt in their quest to lure the Netherlands centre back to Germany. Bayern are yet to make a bid for de Ligt, but his asking price is around €90m-€100m. The young central defender has been at Italian Serie A side Juventus since he joined them from Dutch team Ajax Amsterdam three years ago. The Old Lady paid a lot of money to sign him from Ajax in the summer of 2019. De Ligt had just led a youthful Ajax Amsterdam side to the Champions League semifinals before he made the move to Italian football. Germany could be his next destination as he prefers a move to Bayern Munich ahead of Premier League heavyweights Chelsea.

The arrival of de Ligt could pave the way for Frenchman Upamecano to leave Bavarian giants Bayern Munich after one season. Upamecano signed for Bayern Munich last summer after the five-time Champions League winners agreed a deal with fellow German team RB Leipzig for his services.

The availability of Upamecano could depend on the signing of de Ligt as reported by Sky Germany. Upamecano didn’t have the best of debut seasons at Allianz Arena as Bayern Munich failed to win more than one trophy. The Germans ended the season with the league title only. They were eliminated by Borussia Moenchengladbach in the German Cup and Spanish team Villarreal in the Champions League.
